Searching is a daunting process...and can leave many of us feeling like a four-year-old lost in a very big train station.  For every stop along your post-adoption journey, White Oak can provide helpful information about where to go, how to get there and what to expect when the train pulls into the station. We know which programs offer reliable post-adoption assistance...and which agencies merely "take the money and run." We can give you the "straight dope" on most of the private searchers offering fee-based assistance to Illinois triad members...and recommend adoption support groups in your geographical area (whether you live in-state or out...). For those seeking more individualized attention, we even know a few highly-qualified Illinois mental heath care providers specialized in post-adoption issues...

Obviously, this is not the stuff that Web sites are made of. To respond to specific questions regarding search and reunion options, programs and services, the White Oak Foundation has an "adoption hotline" (312/666-5722) where those contemplating a search--or already involved in a reunion--can anonymously seek the answers to their most probing questions.  We will also respond to e-mail queries as honestly...and as completely...as possible.  All you have to do is ask...
